In May, the country witnessed a 15.3% growth in non-ferrous metal production compared with the same period last year. The growth rate was 2.5% lower than last month.
Among them, production of copper, lead and zinc witnessed a growth of 18.3%,2.6% and 2% respectively, which were 4.4%, 9.1% and 1.1% lower than last month; Output of electrolyse aluminum gained a growth of 21.3%, which was 2.1% higher than last month. Prices of non-ferrous metal continued to fall down.
In this month, average spot prices of copper, electrolyse aluminum and zinc were 62,800 yuan/ ton, 18,888 yuan/ ton and 18,000 yuan/ ton respectively, which were 2.1%, 10.4% and 42.2% lower compared with the same period last year; price of lead was 17,700 yuan/ ton, which was 4.6% higher compared with the same period last year.
In May, the country’s output of non-ferrous metal reached 10,210,000 tons, which was 12.2% higher compared with the same period last year; while the growth rate was 12.5% lower.
Among them, output of electrolyse aluminum reached 5,440,000, which was 13.2% higher than the same period of last year, with the growth rate 22.9% lower. Output of copper, lead and zinc were 19.1%, 7.8% and 4.1% higher respectively. Output of alumina was 9110,000 tons, which was 18% higher.
